Sonas Bed and Breakfast is a successful family business run by Ann and Myles Gallagher. It is a 5 bedroom, 3 star Failte Ireland Approved B & B. It is ideally located outside Carrigart in Co. Donegal on the North West Coast of Ireland. It has become synonymous with walkers, ramblers and cyclists because of its proximity to a variety of both challenging and panoramic routes, including the Atlantic Drive on the Wild Atlantic Way, Errigal and Muckish Mountains and Glenveagh National Park.
Special cycling packages are available to include hire of hybrid or electric bike, cycle routes and accommodation.
Special Golf packages are available, with up to one hundred holes within a 30 minute drive, including the Sandy Hill Links and Tom Morris courses at Rosapenna Golf Club and Portsalon Golf Club, founder members of the GUI. Drying facilities are available at Sonas.
The B & B car park is frequently used by Mevagh Ramblers, the local walking group, who welcome visitors and those seeking outdoor fitness to join them. Special packages can be arranged for groups, including accommodation, evening meals and guided walks.
The attentive and accommodating service is a central goal of the business owners, which is borne out by the reviews on Trip Advisor. The packages include a full range of dietary needs, with home cooking a specialty as can be seen on the menu.
